Kate Wells | Reporter

Kate Wells has been a reporter at Michigan Radio since 2012. Her reporting at the station runs the gamut, from the wrongful conviction of a 14-year-old boy in a quadruple homicide, to refugees building new lives in this state, to how swing voters helped Donald Trump turn Michigan red. For the past couple years, she’s been covering the Larry Nassar case.

Kate’s work has been featured nationally on NPR and shows like Marketplace. Her reporting has also been recognized with awards from numerous news organizations, including the Michigan Associated Press, National Association of Black Journalists and the Association for Women in Communications.

She and her husband live with their infant son in Ann Arbor, and are probably too emotionally invested in college football.
