Tyler Scott | Weekend afternoon host

Tyler Scott is the weekend afternoon host at Michigan Radio, though you can often hear him filling in at other times during the week. Tyler started in radio at age 18, as a board operator at WMLM 1520AM in Alma, Michigan, where he later became host of The Morning Show. He studied political science and graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in 2016.

When he’s not trying to find a good story to listen to or read, Tyler especially loves listening to a wide range of music, from contemporary rap to Dad Rock and Joan Baez, even a little bit of older country (absorbed during his early days in radio). Lindsey Scullen | Producer / Director, Stateside

Lindsey Scullen is the director and one of the producers of Stateside, Michigan Radio’s daily news show. She started at the station back in February of 2015 as a web intern for Stateside, went on to intern for The Environment Report, and then returned to Stateside full time in May of 2016. She graduated that year from the University of Michigan where she studied Comparative Literature, Spanish, Environmental Studies, and Complex Systems. She moonlights as a fairly poor, yet resolute, salsa dancer.

Lindsey Smith | Investigative Reporter

Lindsey Smith is Michigan Radio’s Investigative Reporter. She previously served as Michigan Radio’s West Michigan Reporter.

Lindsey helped cover the Larry Nassar sexual abuse case and led the station’s award-winning Flint water crisis coverage. Her 2015 documentary about the Flint water crisis, Not Safe to Drink, won a national Edward R. Murrow Award, an Alfred I. duPont – Columbia University Award, and a Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Award. The Detroit chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists named her “Young Journalist of the Year” in 2014.

She’s a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Specs Howard School of Media Arts.

Jackie Stickney | Sustainer Memberships and Customer Service

Jackie came to Michigan Radio as a temporary employee in May 2009. Having worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and though her background is not in public media, she finds her position to be challenging and interesting.

Jackie runs our successful sustaining membership program and also handles most of the customer service calls and emails that come into the station. Every day is different.
