Steve Schram is Executive Director and General Manager of Michigan Public Media, overseeing Michigan Radio-WUOM, the NPR news and information public radio station at the University of Michigan. Michigan Radio is the state’s most listened to public radio station, and serves over 510,000 listeners weekly from its statewide broadcast signals and online audio streaming.

Tyler Scott | Weekend afternoon host

Tyler Scott is the weekend afternoon host at Michigan Radio, though you can often hear him filling in at other times during the week. Tyler started in radio at age 18, as a board operator at WMLM 1520AM in Alma, Michigan, where he later became host of The Morning Show. Bob Skon | Chief Engineer

Bob began his radio career when he joined Michigan Radio in 1996 as the weekend morning on air host. Due to his experience in Los Angeles as a recording studio installation and maintenance technician, he began splitting his time with the engineering department, and moved into engineering full time when he accepted the position of Chief Engineer.

Lindsey Smith | Investigative Reporter

Lindsey Smith is Michigan Radio’s Investigative Reporter. She previously served as Michigan Radio’s West Michigan Reporter.

Lindsey helped cover the Larry Nassar sexual abuse case and led the station’s award-winning Flint water crisis coverage. Her 2015 documentary about the Flint water crisis, Not Safe to Drink, won a national Edward R. Murrow Award, an Alfred I. duPont – Columbia University Award, and a Third Coast/Richard H. Driehaus Award. The Detroit chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists named her “Young Journalist of the Year” in 2014.

She’s a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Specs Howard School of Media Arts.

Timothy Spurlin | Stateside Production Assistant

Timothy Spurlin, 21, is a rising senior at the University of Michigan, currently working towards dual degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies. Timothy is currently a Stateside Production Assistant with Michigan Radio, and can also be found working as Senior Opinion Editor and columnist for the Michigan Daily. Jackie Stickney | Sustainer Memberships and Customer Service

Jackie came to Michigan Radio as a temporary employee in May 2009. Having worked in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and though her background is not in public media, she finds her position to be challenging and interesting.

Jackie runs our successful sustaining membership program and also handles most of the customer service calls and emails that come into the station. Every day is different.
