Dustin Dwyer reports enterprise and long-form stories from Michigan Radio’s West Michigan bureau. He was a fellow in the class of 2018 at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. He’s been with Michigan Radio since 2004, when he started as an intern in the newsroom. He left the station in 2010-2011 to be a stay at home dad, and returned to be part of the Changing Gears project, a collaboration between Michigan Radio, Ideastream in Cleveland and WBEZ in Chicago. From 2012 – 2017, he was part of the team for State of Opportunity, and produced several radio documentaries on kids and families in Michigan. He lives in Grand Rapids with his wife and three kids.
MaKayla Ealy | Newsroom Intern
MaKayla is a recent Michigan transplant hailing from Arkansas with a deep love for storytelling which has translated to a love for public radio. She loves being outdoors (and welcomes any recommendations for great hiking spots), cooking for her fiancée, and is a budding horticulturist. She is studying Mass Communication at the University of Arkansas Little Rock.

Virginia Gordan | Reporter
Virginia Gordan has been a part-time reporter at Michigan Radio since fall 2013. She has a general beat covering news topics from across the state.
Virginia joined Michigan Radio after a career at the University of Michigan Law School, first as Assistant Dean of Students and later as Assistant Dean of International Affairs. Brad Gowland | Digital Tech Specialist
Brad Gowland joined Michigan Radio in 2019 to help with the station’s growing digital side, specializing in data collection and digital audio. Brad got his start in radio at New York City’s WNYC, where he was a data analyst and computer programmer (and made lots of great friends). He loves Morning Edition, the Grateful Dead, and crosswords.
Lester Graham | Reporter, The Environment Report
Lester Graham is the host of The Environment Report, and previously hosted Stateside on Fridays. He has reported on public policy, politics, and issues regarding race and gender inequity. He was previously with The Environment Report at Michigan Radio from 1998-2010.

Jennifer Guerra | Executive Producer, Special Projects
Jennifer was executive producer of Michigan Radio’s Peabody award-winning podcast Believed, and is currently developing new podcasts for the station. She was a 2018 Knight-Wallace journalism fellow at the University of Michigan. She’s been with Michigan Radio since 2005, where she started as an on-air host and arts reporter. Ronotta Holliday | Business Assistant
Ronotta has worked for the University of Michigan Dining including managing North Quad’s Blue Cafe before joining Michigan Radio. In addition to being part of the U of M family for over 5 years as an employee, Ronotta earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Marketing from U of M Dearborn as an undergrad. A native of Ann Arbor, she currently lives in Ypsilanti along with her 2 children. Outside of work Ronotta enjoys ‘Painting with a Twist’ and getting lost in music.

Daniel Howes is columnist and associate business editor of The Detroit News. A former European correspondent for The News, he has reported from nearly 25 countries on three continents and in the Middle East. Before heading to Europe in 1999, Howes was senior automotive writer and a business projects writer.
